New Spark plugs fixed my rough idle probs
Just thought id put this out there for those who may be experiencing the same probs i had.
First cold start in the mornings the car would run rough, idle would jump up to 3k rpm on immediate start. Then drop to around 300 - 500, then to 1500rpm. During the summer the car was good as can be until the first sign of cold weather. Eventually the idle would settle once the car warmed up.
AND it would only run rough on the FIRST initial morning start up, rest of the day it would be just fine. Took out the old plugs and the gaps were at .080 on all 8 plugs. Jammed in some new plugs and my car starts just fine on cold mornings now. Current mileage is at 130k miles.
Hope this helps anybody, somebody

A lot of minor drivability issues are caused by plugs and wires. Too many people believe the 'good for 100,000 miles' stuff. In my experience, that's way too long. Maybe 40-50 thousand. I am just a car nut so I change mine every year, which I know isn't really needed. Did you put the old wires back on or change them too? That's something that most people do but I would change them when you can also. Just pulling them off and back on can cause failure. If you leave the old wires and have another 'stumble' issue, you'll know it isn't the plugs and you'll go, humm, wonder what it is now?

i dont have the cash for new wires, not just yet anyway. I just used the old wires for now. I bought the car used right at 100k miles, got a good deal on it. I used autolite platinums, nothing special.
