Default Plugged in code-reader and fuel pumped started priming

Ok, I just went today to scan my codes to see if my P0100 code was still on, and the code reader never turned on, and as soon as I plugged it in, my fuel pump started to prime. What's up with that?

The code scanner used to not do this.. The fuel pump stays priming until I unplug the scanner.

Try it on another car and see if it works. Usually the problem with them not turning on is a blown fuse the powers the DLC port - don't know what the deal is with the fuel pump continuing to prime.

Alright, so it works in other cars. The scanner is good. This is weird, what would cause this, maybe a faulty computer??

Still think it's a fuse, on mine it's the CIG/ACCY fuse - yours is probably different but still tied in with the cig lighter circuit. Owners manual will tell you which one powers the DLC port.

Replaced the fuse, and it works now. Thanks. I didn't think anything about a fuse

Good deal, glad it wasn't something more serious.
