Default What is this part?

Ok, doing a cam swap and while trying to break the balancer bolt loose I found this in the bottom tray where the bottom of the radiator would be sitting. Radiator was removed for the cam swap. It appears to be a ****, plastic with a rubber coating around the OD. It has one position indicator line (or what looks like one to me). Is this just road debris that could have found its way there or is it part of the car?
I've never seen anything like it on a pontiac.
Thanks.

It's a plug that goes into the end of a tube for shipping purposes. To keep the end from getting bent and you from getting cut. Just a safety thing to protect the edges. Maybe from headers or an exhaust kit and someone lost it during install. Or could have been picked up off the road. I'll bet it is a tube end protector of some sort.

Its got a female "D" pocket on the back, like the old TV ***** or a **** that goes on a slightly milled or flat sided shaft.
So it must be a **** of some kind, that drives some type of small shaft.... I just have no idea.

That's the ion flow adjusting **** for the flux capacitor. I'm surprised your car runs ok with it off. Is your SES light on?
