Default sway bar thing not there...

Well..when i went to change out my rotors and pads today i noticed that on one side of the car..this "thing" was bolting the sway bar to the frame with some bushings on it...now on this side however..it is not..what do i need in order to correct this problem before it turns into something worse?

what is it called though....so when i walk into autozone..what do I need to tell them I need?

is it a fairly easy installation? would I have to tighten it down to specific specs or just make it snug?

yes "swaybar end links" are what they are called. Sphon is a sponsor on here, but you can just go to an autoparts store too

They are easy to replace. Ummm.. they come in sets as you should replace both at the same time and it will be a good idea to replace the sway bar bushings at the same time since it has been hanging with a single sided link for who knows how long.

I usually get Moog or Energy Suspension products, but as mentioned you can pick them up nearly anywhere.

Couple links from Energy to show you what they are and where they go. Good luck.

I had my rear bar off for about a month. I took it for a little spirited jaunt on a portion of highway in CA which many enthusiasts take to test road coarse set-up because of the "s-c" curves in the road. Amazingly, the TA tracked fairly well except for some mild swing-out on corners rated 5 mph in which I took at 20ish.

I could see how he drove it for as long as he did without noticing. There really is nothing there to slap around on or against it and it's not like the bushings were bad there by causing it to squeak or clatter. As for the deCarbon's - those little bitches are pretty stout. I still have the stockers on my TA at 88,000 miles. Although it is almost time to slap some Bilsteins on him.

I'll give him a pass on this one. We all have a certain level of knowledge and skills with auto mechanics. Cut him some slack.
