Default trouble shifting out of park...

sometimes when it's cold outside my car doesn't want to shift out of park until it warms up a minute. anyone ever run into this? could it be a shift cable or something going bad?

btw, this is on a 98 trans am, automatic obviously.

thanks

Is it the button that wont click in?
Same thing that is on my car, brought it into the shop but they couldn't fix it. So i have just developed a way of clicking it in without having to wait for it to warm up. I just put my right thumb on the button, like normal, and then take your left hand and push it up against your thumb and wiggle it around. I know this sounds really weird but i dont have to wait for it to warm up now. Hope this helps.

Park shift interlock solenoid on the shifter is going bad. Pop the top off of the console disconnect the connector and pop the solenoid off and chunk it into the trash can.
