Default 13 mpg?!

Okay guys im lost. Ever since I bought my TA 2 and a half months ago it has had terrible fuel economy, never more than 180 miles on a 13.5 gallon fillup. Only mods are a flowmaster catback and slp lid. I seafoamed it, changed the fuel filter, oil, cleaned MAF.... however my tranny does slip a bit. This is under a mix of about 60/40 city/highway driving, and I go pretty easy on the throttle. What should I check next, o2s? Its not throwing any codes, except for right after I cleaned the MAF. Any help is appreciated guys

Im pretty much stock though. I keep hearing people on this forum claiming to get 300 to a tank with mixed driving... im confused. Should I just accept it for what it is or could I be doing better? I didnt buy an Fbody for the fuel economy but it would be nice =]

I think you guys have something wrong. My 4.30 geared TRex cammed 98 averages 15mpg with driving 150 miles to the track and racing all afternoon and driving home.

Big question is are you an A4 or an M6? Thats the huge difference right there... my car with mods in sig I get about 24-26 MPG mixed driving... 30+ on the highway.

If you're tranny is slipping that could be affecting it. You should also check your plugs and wires and change them if its been a while.

Plugs and wires will hopefully be changed this week and the tranny when I have some extra cash... I will be going with a beefed up 4L60E with either the stock TC or a 2500 stall... What mpg should I expect to be seeing?

o2's would have been the first thing I checked, if those are bad and you switch them the difference can be like night and day. I would go ahead and change them out anyways depending on your milage/last time you changed them.

If you live in the CITY of Los Angeles, this would be fine and normal. The stop and go driving in a city is much worse than "city" driving in the suburbs. Before I got a CarbonClean service (a commercial carbon cleaning) I was at 12.4 mpg in downtown Chicago. The car is fine - on the highway, I get up to 28 mpg.

My lid/catback M6 gets 19 city and 32 highway and an average of about 23-24, but that is having some fun with it a couple times a week. With my 16 gal tank I go about 300-320 miles between fill-ups

Get LTs. I got great milage with lid, LTs, ORY, and exhaust. I use to get 360 miles on the tank. Now after two retunes on mods below I'm getting 25 MPG. Not too bad for 440 at the crank I'd say.
