Default how do you clean the IAC

How do you go about cleaning the IAC. Is it just a matter of pulling the few hex bolts that attached it to the TB and us maf cleaner. Or am I looking at something totaly different. I am having idle issues and am trying as many thing as possible before I go spend the money replaceing things or bringing it to a shop.

Take it off and you'll see how it works. Just be careful not to unscrew the rubber stopper too much or it will come off and that spring will take off like a rocket. Just take it out and drench it in MAF cleaner or Sea Foam spray cleaner. Usually though, if an IAC fails its an electrical failure and thats it, its done and will stay in its last position. Its a screw drive that moves the rubber stopper in and out. So all you can really do is clean the spring and the screw drive.
