valve above oil filter?

Default valve above oil filter?

theres some kind of valve i have no clue what it is it has 2 bolts holding it above the oil filter, and it seems to be where my leaks coming from possibly... what is this part and can i just get a new one from advanced or a gm dealer?

There is a gasket under the fitting, sounds like thats all you need to replace.

whats it do? is it a pressure relief or somethin for the oil filter? and what do i ask for at advanced? whats a part of?

On the vette its used to install the oil sensors, on the F-body its just a cover as it wasn't used, or rather wasn't utilized by GM for the F body platform.

I drilled it out and put my aftermarket oil temperature gauge there.
I don't know if you can get the gasket anywhere but the dealership, but you can certanly buy gasket material at the parts store and make it yourself.
