Default Need some help from experts. Valves are very noisy and a broken bearing...

I was changing my oil on Sunday and found pieces of a bearing in it attached to the bolt at the oil pan... they weren't your regular *****, more like rods. About 1/4-1/8" long and very small diameter.

Does anyone have any idea where it could've came from?

I didn't drive my car until today, and after driving it around the neighborhood I noticed that valves on the left side were clicking very loudly. I didn't feel any power loss or affect in drivability, so I assume nothing is really broken yet, but I'm not gonna drive it until everything is fixed.

I have G5X4 camshaft installed and PRC Spring Kit. Cam was installed about 6-6.5K mi ago.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

I just did a little research and needle bearings are used in rocker arms and lifters. Now the question remains which one is broken and needs a replacement... Rocker arm replacement doesn't look too bad, so I might actually do it myself if that's what it is.

What about lifters though? How hard are they to reach and replace?

Thanks

It's the rocker arm needle bearings, you need to replace them all or you'll be doing the same thing in the future. the older LS1's had a design that would cause this.

The lifters should be ok, you need to take the heads off to change them.

Thanks for the input. So, should I buy new rocker arms or is there a way to just replace the bearings? Any input on which rocker arms I should get?

Thanks
