How to replace the bevel by the drivers side door?

How to replace the bevel by the drivers side door? Mine was cracked so I got a new one. I'm having a hard time separating the bevel from the top two buttons (the button that locks the doors and the button that adjusts the height of the mirrors). Am I supposed to force it out or twist it out or what?
