Bad tensioner, the springs in them tend to get weak over time and sag forward.

that explains quite a bit i thought it looked like it wasnt stretced out very far.
you can kind of pluck the belt and it wiggles a little bit and i thougt they were supposed to be pretty tight?

They are supposed to be tight, you shouldnt be able to move them without a bit of effort.

thanks smarty i checked last night i couldnt actually move the tensioner but it did kinda wiggle if that makes sense, ive found one at a local parts store and i think im just gonna pick it up for 50 bucks and give it a try can hurt i dont know the miles on the 98 motor it came off of, or if it had the tsb done to it. but from the looks of things it was probably pretty high mileage
