Default Problem aft, header and y pipe install

kooks header and y with high flow cats, SLP LDMTH 1 Cat Back.about 5 months ago i narrowed my sparkplug gap to .040 at the reccomendation of this or another site. It seemed to be ok in stock form but after installation i have a check light and lots of fuel consumption, what would the correct gap be? .050 .055?
Stock LS 6 ENG.

i think stock is .060"

generally the ngk tr55s are gapped at .055" which is sufficient

the light came back on,burning[wasting] lots of fuel, so the ride is at the dealer now, either bad plug wire, bad coil or reprogram to compensate for mods/ any other suggestions
