Custom quiet TD exhaust setup questions
I want to build a quiet custom true dual exhaust for my car.
The exhaust system will consist of the following...
custom 1 3/4" long tube headers with 3" collector
dual 3" Magnaflow metallic substrate catalytic converters
3" X-merge as parallel as possible
dual 3" Borla ProXS mufflers
Now my question is... If I add another set of mufflers (let's say dual 3" Borla XR1's), will it quiet the exhaust down even more? or is there another better way to quiet the exhaust down besides adding another set of mufflers?
And where is the best placement for the catalytic converters and the X-merge? I've seen some systems where the X-merge was before the catalytic converters and some systems where the X-merge was after the catalytic converters. I read somewhere that the catalytic converters are best placed closest to the headers for maximum effectiveness.
If this quiet setup robs too much power then I'll likely get a set of 3" electric cutouts.
Thanks
