using a ls1 vacuum/smog pump for other uses?

using a ls1 vacuum/smog pump for other uses? Anyone know much about these things, Can I use them to draw crankcase pressure? or provide more vacuum for my power brake booster? this would be in a non ls1 vehicle, just want to use the pump for drawing vacuum. seems they have quite big hose ends on them. what kind of pressure can they draw?
