Default CutOut Question

I wanna buy a cut out with the QTP Electric cut out valve. All the ones they sell are 3" or 3"5 but the y-pipes are 2"5, does this make a different. Is 3" and 3"5 the size of the hole? Hope you guys understand what im saying.

You could use one 3" in the I-pipe instead of two in the Y-pipe.

The passengers side converter attaches to the manifold on a 00 & up F body.

Best to put one 3" cutout in the I pipe under the passengers side rear seat.
