Default Catalytic Converter placement

I'm about to get headers installed, but it doesn't look like I can gets mounted in the y-pipe.. will the cats still work right if i mount a 3" bullet cat directly behind the y pipe?

Honestly I don't care if it works right, i just need to pass the visual inspection to get my sticker lol will this work?

the closer to the header the better. on the drivers side mine is maybe 5" back because of the floorboard there.

I doubt this will pass. visually they need to be in the stock location. the car came from the factory with 2 of them so 2 is required. But I don't know where you are or the rules there so you might get by.

Yeah, it really depends on where you go and how much they know. I think most places will pass you as long as there are no codes and you can see a cat somewhere there.
