Default Which is quieter with a built motor... headers + mufflex or dual exhaust with x pipe?

Here are the finalists for my car:

Scenario A
Kooks step headers, 3.5 collectors
3.5 Y pipe with 4.0 collector
4.0 Mufflex, with Dynomax Ultraflow muffler

Scenario B
Kooks step headers, 3.5 collectors
3.5 transitioning into 3.0 X pipe
3.0 pipe out of the x pipe
ATR, Borla XR1 or Moroso Spiral Flow mufflers dumped at the axle

Right now I have 3.5 oval dual exhaust and 3.5 oval inlet Flowmasters that are too loud for me.

I am leaning towards doing the X pipe setup but am very open, tell me what you think!!!!!

The mufflex catback with the ultraflo trashcan will be the quietest. The low profile mufflers required for duals dont quiet the exhaust very much. Theres the area by the top and bottom of the muffler that doesnt allow much room for sound deading material between the casing and exhaust tube. This allows sound to get past the muffler.

I have a 3" true dual with x all the way out the back with dynomax bullets and it is toooo loud. Getting ready to fix some crush bends, and switch to some different mufflers. I was thinking of trying the borlas. The mufflex would be much quieter with a little less flow.

Bullets sound like azz I did them before.

I had Borla XR1s welded on and it sounded nice.

Looks like I am buying X Pipe parts from Kooks and then buying some ATR mufflers from Speed Inc. I am going to dump it at the axle for now.

I think it will still be pretty loud on your car. I'd do the 4" mufflex exhaust and have dual cutouts behind the headers for the track.

I already had a 4" Mufflex setup too with two different mufflers.

Everyone says the X will quiet it down and Speed Inc. said that the ATR mufflers are the quietest ones they have seen so far.

I had in the past:

Mac headers
ORP
Mufflex with Flowmater
>
TTS longtubes
ORP
Mufflex w/Flowmaster
>
TTS headers
dual exhaust, bullets, dumps
>
TTS headers
dual exhaust, H piped, Borla XR1's, dumped
>
Kooks big step headers
ovel dual exhaustl
Flowmaster low profile race mufflers, no dumps

I'm sure the X will help, but I haven't heard ANY true dual system that was quieter than a regular Y-pipe catback config even with off roads and a highflowing catback. I think the exhaust coupled together at the Y with the exhaust exiting out the back is the quietest route.

If you're mainly just after having the most performance possible obviously the duals are better but they resonate more inside the car with them dumped at the axle obviously.
