Why does this hypertech t-stat not fit in my waterpump? ('99 vette *pics*)

Default Why does this hypertech t-stat not fit in my waterpump? ('99 vette *pics*)

I'm trying to put a 160 degree thermostat in my '99 Corvette. It appears that the hypertech thermostat (made by Motorad - Germany) is too large for my waterpump. The supports on the thermostat are 2.0" wide, and the hole in my waterpump is 1.875" wide.

I have an ls2 water pump and thermostat housing, problem solved.

The same thing happened when I went to upgrade my thermostat. I did a little searching and found one through Scoggin Dickey. Here is a link to the part you'll need:

yeah, mr. gasket makes a nice 160 version for the 2-piece thermostats.
