Default Stock Exhaust Pipe size

Hey guys,

Dumb question but what is the stock exhaust pipe size on a 98 TA? Looking to add a cutout.

Just wondering, if the i-pipe is 2.75" in diameter and you get a 3" cutout, how do the two match up when the cutout gets welded in? Does the exhaust shop have to fabricate an "adapter" between the 2.75" and 3.00" or do they just run a really thick weld bead?

Thanks

Fill the gap with the welder.

Oh alright, I was just curious because it seems like welding thin exhaust metal with a mig would make it really easy to blow through before being able to get that much bead material down.
