Default SES code..

A while back I did my longtubes and a buddy deleted the codes and all was good. Now maybe 6-7 months ago, I swapped intakes and put the ls6 on. No codes were on until the 2nd following day I drove to work in the rain. Well the next day it popped on and Az mentioned it showed the knock sensor code and o2 sensor (bank 1 sensor 2)

I finally swapped the new sensors and harness last week and again for 2 days no code but it brought up the same readings at Az.

Shouldn't the o2 sensor be deleted since a buddy deleted them from the header install? Would this trigger the ks code even if I just replaced them?

Any ideas?

def check the tune....not sure why the rear sensors would trip a light if they were "deleted"

issue with the ks could be more than just the actual sensor. possibly wiring somewhere.

The knock sensor code has nothing whatsoever to do with the rear O2 code...

Sounds like he didn't 'delete' them either.

well why would the ks code pop on the scanner??

I don't want to take it off again and double check the wire harness only.. I put sealant around the rubber boot to prevent water from sneaking in when I drive in the rain.

because there is a problem with the knock sensor (or KS circuit)... that's what it is there for

Oh yeah,

That code is one of the few that actually cost you HP. When it is active, you LOSE 4 degrees of timing whenever you get into PE (ANY heavy throttle). The PCM does this to protect the stock motor in the event of KS failure.
