Clear lid comparision PICS: MTI vs FTP 100mm 
Its pretty hard to take measurements, but I have the biggest point at 105mm. That is just the half inch where the 100mm MAF fits though. Best as I can read it, it looks really really damn close to 100mm through and through. Put it this way, I have bigger hands than most people and I can make my fist fit. I think that says a lot right there.
Overall, I think that bulge gives it the extra millimeters. That and they flared out the end just a bit more so a 100mm maf would fit in the end. I think the mouth on the inside is a little wider aswell. Another VERY important not is the MTI clear lids crack because it is a ridgid plastic. These FTP lids are flexible like Rubbermaid containers.
