Default Water pumps

Recently I have gone through a lot of water pump, Im on my 5th water pump in the past 2 or 3 years. In february a few months ago my water pump went out, so I replaced it. Tonight the water pump I put on went out, this is my third water pump I have had on the car this year.

Anyone have any idea why I might be going through so many water pumps? My car is a 1998 Z28 with 105k miles

What exactly is happening when you have to change? is it leaking, making a noise not flowing???

Are you using GM parts or parts store house brand?

I have also seen them leak if you put too much rtv on it to make the gasket stick. I just use a few drops to make it stick while i am mounting.

Ive never used RTV I just install all 6 bolts w/gaskets on the end. Mine has been off and on 3 times in the past 4 months and no leaks at 96k miles.

OP. Is it just leaking or is it doin anything else? are the surfaces clean??
