Default SLP Lid won't seal good. Any tips?

I just got a SLP lid ( the supposed newer "fixed" version ) for an 02 Z28. It seems like one of the latches always comes loose and the rear area of the lid doesn't fasten down like it should. Is this the case with all lids? I figured a lid is a lid, and some cars come from the factory with SLP lids, so wtf!

Anything I can do? I was going to originally buy a granetelle lid, but the store I purchased from said they don't seal good. I liked the way the FastToys 85mm lid looked, but I don't wanna have to buy a 85MM MAF and re-tune the car.

Do a search and you'll see that there's more info. Baiscally you need to push it back so the front of the lid is behind the front lip of the lower air box - it will then seal and clips stay on.

I had the same issues with mine in the beginning... It's possible to seal it to the lower air box.

There's your answer to your question right there. I just bought the lid and had the same issue till a friend of mine did the above. Go out, pop your hood and get er done. Peace.

You can get the FT 85mm lid and use it with your stock MAF....

Yes it will.

Like others said, if you dont have the front of the lid behind the bottom lip it wont seal right.

I pushed it back behind the lip and then re-latched it. It seemed to be on there much tighter but in the back there are still gaps. I guess its just how it was made ( shitty ). Is the stock unit like that?

It said on the website that you need an 85MM MAF to use it. I might be confusing it with a different lid. I'll see if i can find the link

I never said anything about that. It works fine with the stock MAF.

Yeah man just at the bottom where it has all those drop down selection things add the adapter gasket for 8 bucks and it will work with your stock MAF. For some reason I can't copy and paste from their website but yeah right after it says that an 85mm maf is required it says the statement I'm talking about.

This is more then likely the fix! I had to do the same thing to my buddies car!
