Dynomax Bullets or Cherry Bomb Glasspacks?
Hi, just wondering which muffler would be better for my car. I have long tube headers, an off road x pipe, and want to end the system with two dynomax bullets or cherry bomb glass packs. The bullets are 17" in length and have 3" inlet/outlet. The glass packs are 12" in length and have 3" inlet/outlet. Which of the two weigh less? Which ones are louder? Finally which, would ones flow better?
Any opinions would be appreciated!
Thx

buy cherries (25 a pop) and gut them, then you have a cheap SLP loudmouth. As for what they sound like on a LSX motor: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zoOUsDtNpQk
It sounds a bit muffled, sound attenuation on the cam sucks, but you get the idea.

Check the stickys at the top there is one in there that has all kinds of diff exhaust setups..LS1sounds.com i believe.
I would go with bullets IMO. You can't beat the sound for the price. I have them on my car...sounds awesome i wouldn't run any other muffler on a TD setup.

Magnaflow has some nice bullet mufflers 3" in/out, 4" diameter, 14" case. 20" overall length, and there stainless steel, pt# 14419.
I just put one on my car after the Y-pipe, and dumped before the axle with a stainless steel turn down.
Sound Good, and now I can mount my Fays2 watts-link!
The only possible down side is the price (about $73 ea.) if you trying to go as low cost as possible.

bullets are glasspacks, with the exception of the slp resonator which is bullet shaped but has no fiberglass in it, and all of the chambered bullet mufflers. But most bullets should i say are basically cherry-bombs design, (louvered core), the dynamax which is what i got is a perforated core which is slightly different but still basically the same.

ya thanks guys on your opinions. I think I'm gonna go with the dynomax bullets. It looks like they would flow better because they don't have little ridges throughout the pipe like the cherry bomb has.

post up a sound clip when you get it done, i'm interested to heard glasspacks on an LT1. I have a 1995 vette and went resonator only on it, LT1's have the most beautiful sbc sound IMO
