what exactly does the ASP crank pulley DO?
I'm familiar with the function of the alternator pulley... the idea being to squeeze out a few hp by powering the accessories less. I hear that's basically "not worth it." But I hear the "crank" pulley is dyno proven and "worth it." But what exactly is a crank pulley and what am I trading off to get more power?
Also, is it easy/possible to install it myself? What tools are needed? I checked ls1howto and installuniversity and I can't find an install document...

Nothing to lose, it's a win, especially on a M6 because they have a higher idle. The ASP crank pulley drives the acessories at 25% slower than stock. They have an alternator pulley that will slow down the alternator even more, or another one that will speed it back up. You need a 950 rpm idle to run both underdrive pulleys at once.

How about the install?

look on ls1howto.com in the cam/spring install and it shows you how to remove the pulley.
