Default Water Pump interchangability question

I need to fit a water pump on my '00 LS1 with the thinnest water pump pulley possible. I'm not concerned with the other accessory drive pulleys lining up because the a/c, alternator and idler mounts will be fabricated to fit (I'm not running p/steering). This engine is in a 1932 Ford street rod and I need additional water pump to radiator cooling fan clearance.

I checked the dimensions of the water pump/pulley from a GM crate LS3 (GMPP #19201992) while at the Tampa Street Rod Nats last month, the flatter water pump pulley would help a lot, I only need a couple of inches. The LS1 and the LS3 water pumps appear to be very similar but I thought I would ask the experts. Will the LS3 water pump fit and work on the '00 LS1 engine or are there other alternatives for the LS1 pump?

Thanks,
Mike

Yes the LS3 pump will bolt right up to an LS1 engine. Let us know if you need one!

Jon, thanks for your reply, I really appreciate the help. What is the cost for the LS3 pump?

Mike
