Default Are '99 Exhaust manifolds different?

I know that the exhaust manifold design is different between the 99' and 00'+ models...but I thought that it was an internal modification (better flowing) and not a externally physical difference. However someone told me that they actually mate up differently to the Ypipe/cats as well...meaning I need a 99' specific ypipe to fit 99 Manifolds and that 00+ ypipes won't fit. Does anyone know if this is a FACT?

The 98-99 stock "headers" and y pipe are different from the 00 & up. The 00 & up are better flowing. The 98-99 Y pipe will not bolt up to the 00 & manifolds, or vise versa.

Larry found this out the hard way a couple years ago...
