Default oil pan removal

Im trying to find out the easiest way to remove my oil pan of my LS1 trans am. Anyone have any suggestions. Thanks

if i remember correctly it's a matter of removing some of the suspension/k-member to drop it down far enough pull the gasket and replace. the pain is getting it underneath the oil pump filter screen that sits in the center of the pan. did this about 3-4 years ago and lot has elapsed me

Depending what you are pulling the pan for, it might be easier to pull the motor. To attempt to pull it in the car, the K-member needs to be dropped several inches to clear the pick up tube. It just depends what tools and resources you have available where you are going to be doing the work.
