Default Qtp electric cutout issue

Long story short...my freind gave me the electric cutout only and all it has is a red and black coming out of the top, i'm seeing that theyre supposed to have a plug of some sort on the end. The question is how would i wire that to a switch to get it to open and close. I know it works because i took the red to positive and blk to neg on the batt. and it opened, but im gonna need it to close??!! Any input would be a big help, thanks.

Try calling tech support for the company who made the cutout. They should be able to help you.

I would think you'd need a reversing-polarity type three-position switch.
Try hitting the wires to the battery in the opposite manner you did to open it.
It should close it.

Depending on the brand, you may be able to buy the wiring/switch alone.

go to radio shack and get a 3 position 6 prong switch, and you can hook it up that way, the middle prongs are for main power ground, and the other are to the cutout in revers hook up from each other, so the cutout will open and close with the flip of the switch as it reverses polarity
