Default Throttle body size

I am trying to understand when will I need a larger throttle body of maf. We used to do the math to figure out CFM requirements. Now I see people just going larger with throttle bodies. Does anybody have a flow chart on TB or MAF?

For an Ls1 a 80mm or ported stock throttle body will show gains on a stock car.
