Alt voltage regulator
Who sells them?
Ive gone through two parts store alts in a month and Im convinced their reman regulators belong in the trash can next to the viagra ads
Ive looked around locally and cant find any starter/alt repair shops, so who sells regulators online?

I was searching a while back and found this, interesting how to video on GM alternators:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LdFA6WF8lVg
It also mentions a web site that looks decent, has all the spare parts for GM alternators. I didn't buy anything though.

You are absolutely 100% correct, the aftermarket alternators for our cars are pure ****. I have lost count but I have put over 8 or so on in the past year. They are all garbage. I have tried getting them from 4 different sources in "new" and "rebuilt" trim.
There is a website where you can get rebuild parts for these alternators. On that website the guy says that its better to just use the truck alternator on our cars and remove the rear mounting bracket. He says the alternator bolts right in place with that bracket removed and holds fine.
The f body alternator is a CS-130D the alternator he recommends is a AD-244. His prices for the upgraded truck alternator are close to what we pay for the junk F body rebuilds.
I cant post the name of the store because its a non sponsor so I will send you a PM. I think this is the way I am going to go next since I havent been able to locate an alternator builder either. Or I am going to buy a bad used alternator and a rebuild kit from that website since it seems the parts are of good quality.
I made a thread about repeated alternator failures if you wanna look through it for more info.
