Just stating my appreciation for this write-up. Using it currently, and loving how easy it is for me. Fortunately for me, I had the A/C already removed from the car as well as my stock cat-back exhaust. I even found myself hope to break bolts on the y-pipe. Working on the motor mounts now… Thanks again! Very well written, although I wish the photos you don't have, were there. I"d be more than willing to take some photo's if you'd like(not that any more are needed!).

After fighting with poly mounts for most of an afternoon, I found this thread. Went into the garage today and it was absolutely smooth sailing. Thanks for this write-up.

Sending this message to you as well as a PM... Suggestion: add WHEN to add the spark plugs & wires, and whether to reuse the heat shields on the wires. I didn't put in the plugs until after the headers were bolted in, and that made it difficult on the passenger side. I assumed (my fault) that you would have had that in there. Regardless, awesome write up, and if you need, I have photo's that you could add.

Well, I'm noticing that some of these pics are saying "click here to view image" or something, and they goto Image Shack (where the pics are hosted) and then says that it can't show them.
I'm thinking of putting them in Google Photos. So far, I've tested that I can link those images fine, but I don't know if those links are dynamic and whether or not they change. Anyone know?

Imageshack changed to a subscription service recently, so maybe that has something to do with it? Set up a www.fquick.com account and you'll be good to go

Really good write up. I used this as a guide over the last two days to change out the motor and transmission mount on my 01 WS6. I did do a few things different. I decided not to remove me current headers because they are a pain in the behind. I did unbolt them from the heads, unbolt the AC unit, alternator, and starter. Instead of using a scissor jack I bought a $10 piston jack from Autozone and it was a savior. Used it for both sides. I have a transmission jack that has been in storage for years and never used. Well it was used this time around. the flat platform was perfect for holding up the engine with the mounts out. So thanks for the guide, it came in handy.

Just a quick update - I've moved all the pics to Google, so I don't need to worry about ImageShack charging anymore. Plus, I think Google is more reliable anyway.

So should I start at **SECTION 2: Removing Old Exhaust** and skip to **SECTION 6: Putting In Pacesetter Longtube Headers** ? Thanks in advance. I have only done a Tick MC swap myself and don't wanna f*** up.

If you are skipping the motormounts, which sections are actually relevant?

I seem to have lost one of the exhaust manifold / header bolts. Anyone know what size and thread pitch it is so that I can purchase a new one? Should it be of a specific metal hardness?
Is it OK to run around with one missing temporarily (it will be one in the middle that is directly besides another one)?

I had a swiveling ratcheting wrench, had to pretty much lie down on top of the passenger side of the engine bay, reach as far as I could, put the ratcheting head on the bolt, and turn like only 1-2 clicks' worth at a time. It takes forever, your shoulder/arm will get sore, you will probably take breaks, and you'll probably drop the wrench at least once.
The only good news is: there's really no need to put it back in after you're done. Same with driver's side, although passenger's side is definitely harder than driver's side.
This isn't the one I have, but swivel ratcheting wrenches look like this:
