Throwing fan belt
Please give me some ideas. My '03 LQ4 in my Corvette is throwing the belt off at engine speeds approaching 6k. My system I had to eliminate the ps pump so I am running a shorter belt. I have tried the 3 different belt lengths that fit within the parameters allowed by the tensioner. When I replaced the tensioner with a new Dayco unit the belt was little more forgiving but it threw it off again yesterday. This is taking the fun out of this whole thing and my engine heats up ultra quick when the belt is off. Does anyone make idler pulleys with guide raised shoulders or any other fixes?
I need some ideas.
Thanks Frank

What accesories are you using (Vette, Camaro, Truck)??? Did you use the truck balancer/pulley? I want say I have read somewhere that they actually had different lengths. Not 100% sure on that but may give you an idea.

Thanks guys. I am using all the original truck accessory drives, except for the removed ps pump, no mix and match.
It sounds like a fixed tensioner is something to try according to the suggested Katech site.

David, I have all sizes of belt in my inventory now, and new tensioner installed. I have not tried the shortest belt with thje new tensioner but I will tonite - and take'r for the torture test. That engine does like to rev. Even with the stock cam and all.
