Question E-Cutout...Maybe?

Ive been reading about the DMH cutout. Seems like the only way to go. Right now i have a 3" stock exhaust set up with a 80 series flowmaster in the back. my future goals is to install some L/T's, and Sweet thunder mufflers. Will it be worth it still go install the Cutout? I mean it seems like the sweet thunders flow pretty good? Thanks

No Weeds diverter is really the only way to go, IMHO.

Thats seems like a good idea. but $500 for that setup is way out of my range for something like that. I dont really care about the way it sounds. I just want raw exhaust music to my ears. I just wanted to know if its worth it if im going to go with sweet thunder here pretty soon? Will i gain anything from doing this?

Cam it and then put on the DMH Electric cut out.

You think so? i wanted swap out the cam and heads at the same time... Can my Stock LS1 heads handle a TR224/ LSA112? I mean i want to do the job right the first time around. Kill it all on one shot. I dont expect big gains from just the cutout. But i know there will be something at the track.

Your stock heads can handle that with ease. You will see more gains with a cut out w/ heads and cam...plus it will sound way better. That 224 cam is pretty small. IMO I would look into a EPS or Patrick G custom grind cam. All depends what your goals are and how you want the car to drive.

The reason im going with that size cam is because thats the biggest i can go and be smog safe. I live in cali So the questions is, would it make a difference if i just had sweet thunders or would the cutout make a bigger difference in flow?

There's noting wrong with that cam...it's a popular one a lot of guys go with. Honestly though, have one of the many cam gurus on here custom spec one out for you that's equivalent to the 224. You will see better performance from a custom grind then a off the shelf cam. I have no experience with the sweet thunders. If it were me, I would do the electric cut outs since you plan on H/C Swap in the future.

Thanks bro! I didnt know it was possible to have a custom cam made. I thought that was for big time racers. Thank for the advice. Got to do some shopping.

You will love the way it sounds with a cam and cut out.. trust me you won't regret it man. Its the only way to go unless you go duel and put two but don't think you need it.

Thanks Justin. Ive been reading a lot of about cutouts. Ive been trying to save up for my H/C but im not reaching that goal anytime soon. So cutout will be the best bet right now. Have to wait for tax season.

I have had DMH Ecutout for a few years, they are good people and many reviews on them so I would say go with them. Lifetime warranty.. just can't beat that. Which is a advantage since all motors will go at some point on the cutouts.

No, I saw it mentioned at GM High Tech Performance website.

Personally, I like the No Weeds Diverter best...

well i went with the DMH cutout. It has really good reviews and the price is right. Seem like great company to deal with. Plus that warranty caught my eye
