Default Replacing starter motor hard?

I am no mechanic and don't want to screw up my ride! and it acts like it's starter motor time and the replacement came with what looks like metal shims and one of the bolt holes is slotted for I assume alignment, if I don't shim or align it correct can this damage the fly wheel? I don not want to screw things up! or is it as simple as un hook the negative from the battery and with simple wrenches I will be done in 10 minutes? or is this a little more to it and I should take it to a shop?

HELL NO! It is tooooo easy. Unhook the battery and then lift the car alittle. Get underneath it on the passenger side. Disconnect the starter plug and then remove the bolts. It will take you longer to lift the car then take the starter out
