Puff puff
Hey guys.... I have a 2001 SS camaro and was messing around with a bike, which we were racing around a little bit. He told me when I shifted through my gears white smoke came out of my exhaust... is this normal or is something wrong?

Due to the crappy stock PCV system we have, that happens. Old oil vapor is pulled by vacuum from your valve covers into your intake manifold, and it's probably just burning some of that. Could be other issues, but the PCV is known for stuff like this. Not saying this is a permanent fix to that, but look into the 04+ LS6 Valley Cover modification. Will prevent oil being blowing into your intake manifold.

As far as oil consumption, YES. I used to add a whole quart in between oil changes, and seriously I do not add a drop anymore. I started checking my oil very regularly after I put in the valley cover..
Negative effects. NONE.

Like I said, I'm not saying this is your fix-all, but definitely something to look into. That puff could easily be due to burning up some oil that is getting spat into your intake.
