Default UD Pulley Install

Well I didn't really want to do this now ($) but I'm replacing the water pump and rad and the crank pulley is right there. I've been reading about the advantages of the UD pulley. I read to use a puller to remove it but I can't recall if I need a tool to install it. I thought I read that some where.

I bought a threaded rod, hardened washers, & bolt, which came advertised as an LS1 crank pulley installation tool. I think the point is that any 'tool' you use to install the pulley with, be threaded into the crank as far as possible. This will provide the best grip, and keep the crank threads from stripping upon installation.
One way to strip the crank threads is to use a crank bolt to install the pulley. The bolt isn't long enough to insure a positive, secure grip on the crank threads.
I bought mine on ebay...was about $25, and is cheap insurance.
Here's one found for $22...

Free shipping, as well!

Here's another tool from Byunspeed.

I will say that the simple threaded rod approach in the previous comment works well.
