Default LS6 Stock Spring Seats/locks, Reuse??

Searched to no avail.
I just bought a pair of 243's from an 02 LS6. They have 15k miles on them and look perfect. I will be upgrading to a dual spring to support whatever cam I pick out. Was wondering if anyone knows what material the factory seats, retainers and locks are on these heads, and is it safe to reuse them with say a .650 lift dual spring? Please do not respond with the old "just replace them" answer, with nothing to back it up . Thank you in advance.

You usually cannot run the oem combined guide seal and spring seat with dual springs. You need hardened spring seats and pre 2000 (I think) guide seals. Might as well just get all exhaust seals.

Ok I understand. Thanks for the info.

While I'm here, Do you know which material would be best/cost effective for a daily driver with about a .600ish lift cam.. The standard steel, tool steel or titanium?

The most cost effective dual spring kit is probably Lunati. Hardened steel seats are fine.

you can run a pretty nice cam using a pac 1518 single spring.

You are 100% right. I was talking with my coworker, who is also a sponsor, MikeFSKSpeed and he told me the exact same thing. I will definitely be getting the Lunati setup. It is very cost effective compared to other kits. For anyone else looking for the same thing I am. You can actually contact either MikeFSKSpeed, or myself on my work name MikeBSKSpeed, to get a good deal. Thanks for the help guys. Can't wait to get this all done.

Should be sending the heads to AI soon for some porting and be good to go
