Volume of the plenum chamber, runner length and better transition area from plenum to port to head. Everything that goes into making a fast so good, started with the ls6 intake. Fast just dedicated more r and d into their intakes.

remember the differences are not huge...
you wont see any gains down low...
what you will see is that it makes more power up top by extending your rpm range a few hundred more rpm...

stock cam tops off around 5500.... so theres not much benefit in a swap...its only a small amount...like 4-6 hp on a stock long block...
a few bolt on mods and you get maybe 6-12 extra HP from it...
and you can swap to a FAST 90/92 and get 20 hp and a bunch more torque down low on a stock cam car...especially more with a bunch of bolt ons...
I was at 365/380 with a fast 92. stock heads and stock cam and longtubes and a 3" Y exhaust... you wont get anywhere close to that with an ls6 or ls1 intake

So I installed my LS6 intake today, was going to do it Saturday but I couldnt wait. I did the entire swap from shut off to start up in just over an hour, not bad for my first time... and I didnt break the oil pressure sender. (thanking my speed to my cordless matco tools)

I looked at the inside of each intake, the LS1 is more restricted, the LS6 I noticed has the ports to the runners at the top of the intake which are larger and shorter then the LS1, also the LS6 opens up to the rest of the internal intake quicker then the LS1, very happy with the upgrade. Didnt notice a tremendous difference but it seems to pull harder for sure at top end. Next up is a GM hotcam.
