Default Ls2 heads

Aloha gang, are all ls2 heads a direct bolt on for 01 ls1 cars? Mines a 01 c5, might swap my lunati gold valvetrain to the 05 c6 ls2 heads off my friends 05 c6 and bolt to my ls1. My car already has a ls6 intake stock. I already installed a 235/245 duration 630 lift 113 lsa cam

yes the ls2 are a direct bolt on. i'd get them shaved just ensure theyre flat and then put good springs on them and go. you should pick up a good chunk of power too with your cam

A stock style GM LS1/LS6 MLS head gasket will do the job!

Are you certain your PTV clearance will be ok with that 245 exhaust duration with the smaller cc LS2 heads? Just mentioning this incase it hasn't been thought about yet.

If you are running the stock LS1 heads now, your PTV clearance is probably already really tight with that 245 exhaust duration. Going with any smaller cc head now might put you in trouble with clearance issues without "flycutting" the pistons. Flycutting the stock pistons is actually an easy task as long as you know what you're doing (do your homework) and have the right tools. I did mine last year (first experience flycutting pistons) and ended up being easier then expected.
