What is this hose and do I need it? I noticed this hose running from the intake lid on a few different cars, but on mine it is just plugged off with a plastic grommet, it was like that when I bought the car. What is the function of this hose, and do I need to find one to put back on my car?

Yep that is part of the AIR setup, but if its already been plugged off its a good possibility someone beat you to deleting it, or your car is a 98 or 99 and did not come with this hose running to the lid.
