Default Dynoed my car on Saturday

The local car club had their car show on Saturday and had a portable DynoJet there. So for a $100.00 they would run your car. Figured why not. Car pulled 291.75hp and 304.95tq. Car was running lean. My father-in-law's 02 ws6 stone stock pulled 312hp and 338tq. Both cars are a4's

I dont get it, is it me or every dyno number ive seen even though its the same exact motor WS6's run higher. I saw one WS6 silver M6 still remember it to this day and this was several years ago pull 331rwhp bone stock on a dynapack, just weird but thats my experience. Honestly OP 291 rwhp on a A4 stock car is not bad at all and thats usually were it should be. These cars will wake up when you do full bolt ons and tune. Especially being an auto, stall, tranny cooler and tune will wake it up for sure, maybe not dyno number but definitly will be quick with those 3 mods.

I always wondered about this... the later cars got better intake manifolds, but the earlier ones had bigger cams..
It just seems they should even out?

the difference in cam sizes will not make up the 20+hp dif of an ls6 intake manifold. that's nearing ls6 cam swap territory.

It seems to me a 98-00 would make more power than an 01-02 with an intake since they have the slightly larger cam. Especially a 98 where they have bigger injectors too. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Larger cam does not always = more power.

not complaing at all , my a/f ratio never dropped below 13:1 on either run. peaked at almost 17:1 on the first run . then basically 16:1 on the second run. Both cars were run within 30 mins of each other. Conditions for my run were at 68.05F, 28.00in-hg ,34% humidty , std 1.07. The ws6 run at all the pretty much the same. His actual air was less then a dregree more.
Mine had a ported stock air lid , egr and air removed , cats gutted , rear o2's unplugged. No tune for any of this.

17:1 is dangerously lean. I would get it tuned asap.

cranny that's the plan. I have nitrous system going on. lean doesn't equal mean on either. Just means rebuild.

I bet the wideband was messed up because 17:1 at WOT means youd be buying new pistons.
