off the wall intake question LS6 specific
so ive been doing some reading on the LS6 intake. I know its way better than the LS1 but i still like to know about it. Apparently in the earlier LS6 intake set ups there were some problems with detonation in cylinder #7 due to some cooling issues. I read that some racers started running stock vent tubes under the intake to compensate with this and it helped tremendously. They ran these vent tubes by finding marks on the ribbing under the intake in ealry building stages and did some minor shaving of the ribs for fitment of the tubes...
Now for those that have been playing with these since they came out im wondering if these issues are relevant to a 2000 WS6 or if GM fixed the coolant issues in LS motors for 2000 and up? Has anyone ran these vent tubes? Is it a good idea to consider for forced induction? any input is greatly appreciated.

I may be misunderstanding you, but if your car is a 2000 you already have the vent tubes under your LS1 intake. All you have to do is shave off the ribs at the bottom of the LS6 intake and leave the tubes alone...that's what I did.

You just shave the ribs and keep your stock coolant tubes. Here's what they're talking about:
