Need help choosing a replacement exhaust
Current exhaust set-up in sig.
First and foremost, I want to say that I absolutely LOVE the way this set-up sounds during spirited drives!!! I wouldn't trade it for the world, except for the maddening drone at 2k RPM! And of course 2k RPM just happens to be where I spend most of my time during normal driving (65-70 mph).
When I move back to the States from Germany in a year I plan on doing a H/C and Stall. I guess what I'm asking is: should I get a new exhaust now (and if so which one), or will the above mods "move" the drone to a more desirable spot?
I'd really like to keep the sound I currently have but get rid of the drone. I understand that there are more free flowing systems out there but I'm willing to sacrifice a few HP for what I consider to be a "nice throaty exhaust".
Is there anything out there that will give me close to the same sound but without the drone?
Thanks for the help!
Scott

Doing the H/C can make the drone worse just because it will get somewhat louder in some causes. I would do the H/C swap first then see how the drone is and then decide if you want to change the exhaust setup.

a cam by itself will definitely affect the exhaust tone, usually a bit louder and not nearly as smooth. if it's too much for you to handle on a daily basis get a new exhaust now, but i'd wait till your stateside so you have more shipping options or at the very least you can get a nice custom exhaust built the way you want.
