Default FTP 104 vs 98 with 100mm MAF vs 85mm MAF

Hi All,

For a heads/cam setup shooting for the 450-470rwhp range with a FAST 102/102 setup, would you choose the FTP 98mm lid with 85mm Z06 MAF?

Or for about the same money I can do the FTP 104mm lid with the 100mm MAF.

I know you want as little restriction as possible in the intake track... My only question is the MAF tuning. Is it worth the trouble? I'd probably get one of those honeycomb MAF screens from Saxon to help reduce turbulence on the 100mm MAF...

Thanks

98MM with speed density would be the best your you and your mods but can be tough to tune. But since you are in Florida and it stays warm for the most part you should be okay. Bigger lids don't add power unlike what the sellers tell you.

I have a 102/102 with a 98mm lid and no MAF. I have a 100mm MAF I bought on here, but never got around to installing it. I had this guy tune it for me a couple years ago, before I got into tuning, but he said he did a couple pulls with the lid off and he said there was no change. Just some interesting info.

I got fast 102/92 combo, was thinking about the 100mm MAF but for my power level it was not worth the hassle in tuning the MAF, so I ended up with 98mm lid and 85mm truck MAF

Yeah I'm leaning toward the 102 with a 95mm tb and the 98mm lid and 85mm MAF. Tho the price isn't really any more to to 100mm all the way, so even if it doesn't add anything it wont be a loss. And I've thought about speed density, but in northern FL it does get cold (in the 20s) and that tune is going to be way off from 95 and huge humidity.

go with a FAST 102, NW 92, a Z06 MAF, and 98mm FTP lid. that's all you'll need. your not leaving anything on the table. and you'll have some $$ left in your wallet
