Default Water Pump Bolt

What size is the bolt the secures the thermostat housing on the LS1 water pump? There are two (2) of them and I stripped one of them and need to heli-coil it.

What size heli-coil does it take?

Cheers!

Chad

That's it... It would be better if you remove the pump and do it on the work-bench. If the pump is old, you can just replace it and that will fix all your problems. The thermostat/water pump inlet bolt torque is 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

The pump is used but I rebuilt it, its a Meziere electric pump and I replaced the o-rings and had it painted, I also sent the motor back to Maeziere for a free motor/pump evaluation. It's installed on the motor but luckily the stripped bolt is on the top / outboard side so I can get to it fairly easy.

Thanks for the help bro!

Chad
