hey guys i have a 00 camaro z28 m6 i plan on doin a cam swap later in the year like around august or so but i have a set of 243 heads that i can put on now i planned on getting them milled to get 11:1 for the future cam .so do you think can run the stock cam with that compression ratio ????? it will be getting a tune after the heads . also can i just re use the stock lifters when i put 243 heads on

i did that for a while. i got my 243 heads which were slightly milled before i got a cam. all i had was slp 1.85 rockers. it was fine but i had to have the timing reduced a bit to eliminate knock. it was fine though it it made 362hp, 364ft-lbs on an a4 car. after the cam swap it went up to 412hp 380ft-lbs

IMO, swap the cam while doing the heads.

you can reuse the lifters.do it all at once, only have to refill the coolant 1 time.and alot easier to install the needed valve springs with the heads off the motor.

I would do the lifters when you do the cam. +1 for doing it all at once. It takes time and spending restraint but will be worth it once you do it. I'm almost done gathering parts for mine and it makes me sick knowing how much money I spent already but I know it will be worth it when I fire it up.
