Default lq4 transplant help

I have a '04 LQ4 and I am putting in '72 C10. I will have 4L80E behind it. My question is what is easiest wiring method and I will be replacing throttle body for cable drive style. Am I correct to assume if I get ECM and harness from like '99-'02 it would be essentially plug and play (not counting if need to repin for tranny)? This will be on boosted LQ4. Any info will be appreciated.

Well I went threw this with my LQ4 swap into my 1980 transam. I got a computer, and a harness from PSI, they are a vendor here. Their harness is very easy to use. The only problem I had was that I kept getting P300 codes for missfire. After spending $300 plus on having it checked out and cleaning the injectors, and new intake manifold gaskets, a new pvc set up lines....because I went to a ls6 intake.....It turned out to be a crank relearn for $20.....put 3200 miles on it since then.....you will be very happy with the power from that motor, and it knocks down 20 MPG with 3.42 gears and a Yank ss3600 stall on the cruising at 60mph 2150 RPMs....sorry but I'm not sure if the harnesses are different besides the difference of the drive by cable and drive by wire....good luck with your project

I actually just got price from PSI. I figured I was buy old, oem harness and modify for $300 plus buy fuse block for however much without any instructions or just buy PSI's that ready to rock and roll for 4L80E and my setup with fuse block AND instructions for $524, to me its a no brainer for non electrical person like myself. My buddy who has turbo setups is doing ECM tuning. Only difference is he is e85 (none where I am at) and he is air-air. I will be air-water with methanol injection so will help me out there.

Yep, I have a 4L80E, it might eat up some HP.......but they are hard to break. I had a great experience with PSI. I would use them again
