Question True Duals without Headers?

I have been planing on getting rid of my 80 series Flowmaster. But have a few questions, I don't really want to change the exhaust manifolds. I was thinking of a X pipe, Bullet's or a 10 series Flowmaster's. Will I get that true dual, mean sound if I don't put headers?

Well I don't really have the cash for LT's and don't want to go threw the trouble of having them installed.

You'll gain just as much power as any catback out there, plus you'll have the cool sound. Why not??? They're the same price or cheaper than almost all catbacks. Besides, it wouldn't take much effort for a muffler shop to change the piping to fit LT's if you decide to do them down the road. I say go for it dude.
