Starter making grinding noise while cranking on a 5.3?? Building a 88 Mustang with a 5.3/4L80 combo. Brand new starter, B&M SFI flex plate, also new. Makes a slight grinding noise during cranking. How do I check to see if the starter needs to be shimmed?? Is this a common issue??
